Dance for URock!
Rockland, Maine - On Sunday, May 20th from 4:00 - 5:00PM at High Mountain Hall in Camden, Meg Barclay will welcome any interested dancers to learn the movements of Nia. The workshop participants are encouraged to make a donation which will benefit the scholarship fund at University College at Rockland.
Barclay says, "I have a passion for helping others fully inhabit their bodies through the joy of movement and to love their bodies wherever they are on life's path."
Barclay is a licensed Nia White Belt teacher. Barclay came to learn Nia through challenges with her own personal health issues. She says she is, "honored to help others with theirs."
The May 20th session is one in a series of eight donations-only classes to benefit local non-profits. Suggested donations are $10 - $15 per class. All ages and physical abilities are welcome and there is no registration needed.
University College at Rockland brings courses and full degree programs from campuses of the University of Maine System to the mid-coast area. Scholarships are used to support tuition and fee and book costs that local students cannot afford.
According to URock Director, Deborah Meehan, "Scholarships funds are often the deciding factor on whether a student can start or continue a college program. Meg Barclay's support through her dancing is much appreciated."
