LEWISTON, ME - David Jardine and Elizabeth Jardine, who each hold doctorate degrees in audiology, will host seminars on May 8 and May 29. The presentations, which are open to the public, are set for 6 p.m. in the Chairmen’s Rooms on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building on the Central Maine Medical Center campus.
“Improve Your Hearing, Improve Your Life: Advancements In Hearing Technologies” is the topic of the May 8 presentation.
“As audiologists, we are committed to helping people hear better and, as a result, live better. When someone can hear conversations with friends and family, engage in social activities, and connect better with those they care about, they are amazed at how their life improves,” says Elizabeth Jardine.
“Comprehensive ear and hearing disorderevaluation, proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment can lead to a betterquality of life for children and adults alike. Advancements in hearing technology offer many people a positive, life-changing option,” adds David Jardine.
Elizabeth Beal Jardine earned her doctor of audiology degree from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. She is certified by the AmericanSpeech-Language-Hearing Association, and is a member of American Academy ofAudiology.
She specializes in hearing testing for adults and children of all ages, auditory processing disorders (APD) in children, balance disorders of the inner ear and treatment, auditory brainstem response (ABR)testing for infants, and hearing aid selection and fitting for both adults and children of all ages.
David A. Jardine earned his doctor of audiology degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Ky. He is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
He specializes in hearing testing, which includes auditory processing tests to assist in hearing aid fittings for the elderly, tinnitus diagnosis and treatment, and diagnosis and treatment of balance disorders. He is uniquely trained in hearing aid fitting and is one of a select number of audiologists nationwide who is certified to dispense Lyric extended wear hearing aids.
During Better Hearing Month (May), the Central Maine Hearing Center is joining a nationwide effort to remind the public that hearing loss prevention, and proper treatment of hearing loss once it occurs, are critical steps to preserving or improving hearing and securing a more fulfilling lifestyle.
These seminars, sponsored by Central Maine Medical Center and Central Maine Hearing Center, are free of charge and open to the public. Refreshments and giveaways will be offered to attendees.
“What’s That Darn Ringing In My Ear? Let’s Talk About Tinnitus” will be the subject of the May 29 presentation.
