Rockland Public Library-- Change in Library Schedule

Change of schedule

Rockland, Maine - Beginning Monday, August 5, the Rockland Public Library will have a new weekly schedule, opening one hour later in the morning.  This change in hours will allow staff to provide better service and more outreach to the Community.  Library Director Amy Levine recognized that it would not be feasible for the City to reinstate the full-time position the Library lost five years ago.  Opening one hour later, and thereby adding necessary project time for the full-time staff members, seems like the most cost-effective way to get more done without a monetary impact on Rockland citizens.

Staff will use the time prior to opening to collaborate with one another on projects, or work on their own projects and programming initiatives, take advantage of online staff development opportunities, and increase community outreach.  The new schedule will be Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 10 AM to 8 PM, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sundays from 1 to 5 PM.  This change was reviewed and approved by the Library Advisory Committee.
The Library is located at 80 Union  St. FMI: 594-0310.
