Dogs win their fifth straight, 6-3 at New Hampshire


Manchester, NH - Right-hander Kutter Crawford (1-1) earned his first Double-A win and Bobby Dalbec clubbed his 19th homer, leading the Portland Sea Dogs (8-8, 35-48) to a 6-3 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (5-12, 36-48) on Thursday night at Delta Dental Stadium.

Crawford fanned nine batters over six innings, scattering five hits, two runs, and three walks. New Hampshire grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the third inning on a two-out RBI single from Josh Palacios.

Portland took the lead for good in the fourth inning against losing pitcher Zach Logue (3-6). C.J. Chatham led off the frame with a single and Dalbec cracked a two-shot to left. Later in the inning, Luke Tendler blasted a deep two-run homer to right field. New Hampshire responded with a run in their fourth on a sacrifice fly by Alberto Mineo.

The Sea Dogs knocked Logue out of the game in the sixth inning on the back-to-back, two-out RBI doubles from Brett Netzer (3-for-4) and Tendler (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI).

Eduardo Bazardo worked two scoreless frames in relief. Kevin Lenik allowed a lead-off homer to Christian Williams in the ninth inning for the game's final run.

The Sea Dogs have won five straight games for the second time this season, and earned their first road win of the second half.
