National Weather Service out of Caribou, Gray have issued heat advisories, excessive heat watch for the area this weekend.
If you have to be outdoors this weekend, drink a lot of water.

SATURDAY...
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Mid to upper 90s.
* TIMING...Late morning through the afternoon hours Saturday.
* IMPACTS...The high index values pose a risk for heat stress
and heat related illness for everyone, especially those
vulnerable populations without air conditioning and those
spending significant time outdoors. Pets are also susceptible
to heat illness. Additionally, car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in a matter of minutes.
...DANGEROUS HEAT AND HUMIDITY THIS WEEKEND...
.A hot and humid air mass will move into New England this
weekend. While the first taste of it will arrive on Friday, the
worst of the heat and humidity will be on Saturday and could last
into Sunday as well. The Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for
areas most likely to see heat index values of 105 degrees or
higher on Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a Heat Advisory,
which is in effect from 11 AM Saturday to 7 PM EDT Sunday.
* Heat Index Values...Up to 102 due to temperatures in the mid
90s, and dewpoints around 70.
* Timing...The heat index values will rise to 90 by mid morning
and exceed 95 degrees most of the afternoon and early evening
on both Saturday and Sunday.
* Impacts...The combination of heat and humidity will make it
difficult for the human body to regulate its internal
temperature. Heat stroke and heat exhaustion are possible for
those who are exposed to the heat.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and
neighbors, especially older adults who live alone, to make sure
they are able to stay cool.
People who work or exercise outside or in hot environments, and
children attending summer camps or outdoor sports practices should
take extra precautions. When possible...reschedule strenuous
activities to early morning. Know the signs and symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting
clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
