Kittery, Maine - On Tuesday August 6, 2019 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, the Town of Kittery will join communities nationwide for the annual National Night Out event at the Kittery Community Center, located at 120 Rogers Road.
Sponsored by the Kittery Community and in partnership with the National Association of Town Watch and the Kittery Police Department, the event involves 16,500 communities from all 50 states, territories, Canadian provinces and military bases around the world. National Night Out is designed to shine a spotlight on crime prevention, safety and strengthen community spirit along with police and community partnerships.
The Kittery Police Department will be hosting numerous agencies, from Kittery and surrounding towns including the Kittery Fire Department, military and police units from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the Eliot Police Department, and the York County Emergency Management.
There will be free hotdogs, chips, drinks and Kona shaved ice to enjoy at the event. The evening will also have activities and information for all ages, including face painting, caricatures, library fun, a car seat check and information station.
