Rockland Public Library-- Lawn Concert on Thursday, July 18

Rockland, Maine - The Belfast Bay Fiddlers will perform on the lawn of the Rockland Public Library for a free concert on Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 PM. People of all ages are invited to celebrate summer, dance and enjoy the music, and to come early for a picnic. They are asked to bring a chair or a blanket, if they would like, as seating is not  provided.

The Belfast Bay Fiddlers is a group of amateur musicians from Midcoast Maine who play traditional dance tunes from New England, French and Atlantic Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and other regions. Their infectious, toe-tapping repertoire includes jigs, reels, hornpipes, polkas, and waltzes performed on fiddle, guitar, mandolin, whistle, banjo, bass, piano, and other instruments. The Belfast Bay Fiddlers evolved from its weekly jam session in Belfast into a popular group that plays at regional festivals, community events, contra dances, schools, and senior centers. They have performed at New Year’s by the Bay, the Maine Celtic Celebration, Arts in the Park, Harbor Fest and more.

The Library is located at 80 Union  St. FMI: 594-0310.
