Camden, Maine - On Sunday, July 28, at 3:30 pm the Camden Public Library will host Steve Brown’s presentation, “Plastics in Our Ocean: Discoveries and Solutions.” Steve Brown recently completed a five-year circumnavigation of the Americas aboard his aero-rigged schooner, Novara. Along the way he learned a lot about the state of our seas, and especially, the amount of plastic and other garbage floating in them. Brown will give an illustrated talk about the discoveries that he and the other adventurers have made about pollution in our oceans, as well as discuss some of the creative solutions (including his own environmental nonprofit) that sailors have developed to clean up our planet.
This talk is presented by the Camden Classics Cup and the Camden Conservation Commission. For more information on this program, please visit www.librarycamden.org.
