National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial Welcomes Visitors for MLB All-Star Week
Commemorative Tote Bag Giveaway, Discounted Admission for Active Duty and Career Retired Military
The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial is welcoming guests to Kansas City for Major League Baseball’s All-Star Week by giving the first 750 Museum visitors a commemorative tote bag on Friday, July 6. The baseball-themed bag commemorates the Museum’s new exhibition World War I All-Stars: Sports & the Inter-Allied Games. One bag will be given with each full-price admission, while supplies last.
In addition to the giveaway and in recognition of MLB FanFest’s Military Appreciation Day on Friday, July 6, the Museum, in partnership with the VFW, is offering discounted admission to members of the military. Active-duty military personnel receive the regular discounted half off admission, active-duty military families receive $2 off regular admission, and career military (20+ years of service) receive $2 off regular admission. Must present official ID for discount.
About the Exhibition
Located in Exhibit Hall, World War I All-Stars: Sports & the Inter-Allied Games explores the important role of sports during the Great War and highlights the Olympics-type competition that was designed to strengthen the bonds of understanding among soldiers of the Allied nations after World War I ended. The exhibition is included with admission to the Museum and free for members. It is made possible through the generosity of Pioneer Services, Courtney S. Turner Trust and the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund.
