Augusta, Maine - Billy Libby and his band will return to Lithgow Library for a lawn concert that is sure to be a highlight of Lithgow Public Library’s summer concert series on Thursday, August 16 at 6:30 p.m. Now in its third year, the popular concert series has an exciting line-up of Maine performers, from alternative rock to folk to roots/Americana.
Generously sponsored by the Friends of Lithgow Library, the outdoor concerts take place on Thursday evenings in the summer, and are free and open to the public. In case of rain, the concert will take place in the Reading Room.
Libby grew up in Portland and now lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. His current release, “Pitter Patter,” is an introspective and subdued snapshot of both the most wrenching and most whimsical moments of life. The album was recorded and played by Libby, and the result is both ethereal and captivating. Libby also released “The Little Bird” EP in Oct. 2011, a stripped-down four-song EP that features two acoustic guitars and vocals. Among his musical influences are Sufjan Stevens, Kaki King, Radiohead and Bon Iver.
Folk-pop duo Sweet Wednesday will play the last concert of the series on August 30.
