Rockport, Maine - Rockport Public Library is pleased to present a special “Songbirds” story time with Trish Jonason on Tuesday, July 31 from 10:30 until 11:30.
Songbirds is a child/family music class for children ages 0-5. Celebrate each child’s innate interest and ability to sing, drum, shake and dance! Songbirds engages young children in music while helping to develop motor, language and social skills. The group is open to parents, grandparents and caregivers.
Trish Jonason is a board-certified music therapist and owner of Coastal Music Therapy. Trish earned her Bachelor's of Music in Music Therapy from Anna Maria College and completed her clinical internship at Lutheran General Hospital in the Chicago area. Trish has experience working with hospitalized children and adults, as well as children and adults with multiple disabilities, chronic illness, traumatic brain injury, stroke, mental illness and Autism. Trish has worked as a music therapist, teacher and child case manger in the Midcoast area since 2006, familiarizing herself with local providers and schools. Trish is married and has a young son. Trish is a professional member of the American Music Therapy Association.
