Beach Reads from Sisters in Crime July 31

Camden, Maine - What are your favorite mystery authors reading on the beach this summer? Find out when the Sisters in Crime arrive at the Camden Public Library on Tuesday evening, July 31, at 6:30 pm. A panel of three authors from Sisters in Crime New England will recommend some great summer reads. Books will be made available to purchase by Sherman’s Books of Camden, and one lucky attendee will win a beach bag full of summer books!
The panel will feature authors Janis Bolster, Kate Flora, and Vicki Doudera.

Janis Bolster’s second mystery novel The Lost Daughters was a crime fiction finalist for the 2012 Maine Literary Awards. Her first novel, also featuring editor Sally Jean Chambers is Murder in Two Tenses. Janis Bolster grew up in small towns in Maine and has returned, settling into an old shipwright’s house in Bath that is making its way into the third Sally Jean Chalmers mystery.

Kate Flora’s books include seven Thea Kozak mysteries, three gritty police procedurals featuring Portland Detective Joe Burgess, and a suspense thriller (written as Katharine Clark). She is the co-author of the true crime book Finding Amy: A True Story of Murder in Maine. Her latest Joe Burgess novel is Redemption. Flora hails from Union where her mother, A. Carman Clark, was the correspondent for the Camden Herald for years with her column From the Orange Mailbox.

Vicki Doudera writes page-turning mysteries grounded in a reality she knows all too well: the world of luxury real estate. Her latest book is Deadly Offer, third in her series about Darby Farr, a red-hot agent making multimillion dollar deals while solving bloody crimes. She is also the author of Moving to Maine. Vicki lives right here in Camden.
