Literary Event at the Blue Hill Public Library

Blue Hill, Maine - The first annual session of The Blue Hill Writers Group, composed of writers from, India, Canada, Nigeria, and across the US from LA to Minnesota, will read selections of their work in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction at The Blue Hill Library on Thursday, August 9 at 7PM. Readings will be followed by questions and discussion from the audience.

This event is part of a two week workshop and symposium convened by local author, Lucretia Grindle, and Los Angeles writer, Kate J Korman. A collection of the group's work, entitled FRESH PIPES, has just been published by Blue Hill's Borealis Press and will be available.

Members of The Blue Hill Writers Group come from diverse backgrounds, work in all genres, and are at different stages of their careers. Some are published, some are completing first works. Their material ranges from the genocides in Kurdistan to growing up on Chicago's South Side. Their voices will take you 'around the world in 90 minutes'.

Co-Founder, Kate J Korman , daughter of the late Harvey Korman, is the author of FIRST YOU LAUGH, A MEMOIR OF A COMEDIAN'S DAUGHTER. She is based in LA and currently completing a novel. Lucretia Grindle has published six novels, most recently THE VILLA TRISTE, and THE LOST DAUGHTER, which are the first two of a trilogy on Italy in the 20th century. She is currently working on third.
