12:00 p.m. | 65TH ANNUAL MAINE LOBSTER FESTIVAL OPENS
Festival officially opens, along with exhibition tents, booths, vendors, carnival rides and games. Gates open at noon and stay open until 10pm.
Admisison is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
Also, lobster serving begins in the Eating Tent immediately, fresh from the ocean. King Neptune and his court, along with Kristen Margaret Sawyer, the 2011 Maine Sea Goddess, arrive on the main dock from the briny deep to raise the flag and officially open the 2012 Maine Lobster Festival. Opening ceremonies will take place next to the flagpole by the Harbor Master’s building.

Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m., with prizes announced and awarded around 12:30 p.m. First prize is $200, second prize is $175, and third prize is $150. Bangor Daily News sponsors the prize money for the contest.

Randy Houser is a man refreshed. “I don’t know how it happened, but everything in my life has started lining up,” says the Lake, Mississippi native. “I must have done somebody right in the past.”
Houser’s own past contains no shortage of achievement, including multiple nominations for ACM and CMA Awards, a #2 single in the form of “Boots On,” and songwriting credits for major names such as Trace Adkins, Justin Moore and Chris Young. In 2008—mere months after the release of his debut single, “Anything Goes”—Houser was even asked by David Letterman himself to appear on the Late Show. The singer’s first full-length, Anything Goes, came out later that year, followed in 2010 by They Call Me Cadillac.

Big Parade down Main Street features the Grand Marshall, the newly crowned 2012 Sea Goddess, the Sea Princesses and their Escorts, King Neptune and his court and a variety of marching bands and units, floats, drill teams and more. It's one of the finest parades that Maine has to offer.
It starts at the high school on Broadway and travels down North Main St onto Main Street and ends at the Main Entrance to the Festival. Folks from all over line the streets with strollers, bag chairs or sit right on the curb to enjoy the music, marching band, sea princesses and our very own 2012 Sea Goddess with King Neptune and Blackbeard followed up with their court of clams, lobsters and seahags.

Open to children entering grades 2, 3 and 4. Twelve entrants allowed and there is no fee. An Adult relative must be there to sign for entrants younger than 18. There will be three first prizes.

The Children's Parade begins at 10:00AM and wends around the festival grounds. All children are accepted and there is no charge to enter.

Lobster serving begins in the Food Tent. All food vendors also open as well as the new Lobster Cafe Lobster Rolls.
Come in for one, two or three lobster dinners includes a buttery roll and fresh local corn on the cob. The menu includes lobster dinners, but also steamed clams, Fisherman's platter, crab cakes, Shore dinner, fried shrimp, fried haddock, and fried calamari. Check out our 2012 menu, it will be available by July.

Registration begins for "Little Lobster" Diaper Derby at 10am at the Information Booth. Crawlers only. Twelve crawlers allowed to compete. Prizes for costumes and swiftness of the crawler. There is no fee.
"Little Lobster" Diaper Derby starts at 12:30pm at the Main Stage.

The Race begins on the waterfront! - Come down and cheer on your favorite racer, watch them try to keep from falling into the cold Atlantic ocean. Have a lobster roll at the Food Tent and watch from the seawall on the grounds. Its a lot of fun.

The 65th Annual Maine Lobster Festival closes for this year. Come see us next year at the 66th July 31st to Aug 4th.
