 It's four in the afternoon as the girls start arriving at the Samoset Resort. This is going to be a big night.

Tonight is the final night of judging. The girls were scored during the Wiscasset trip and the afternoon at the Knox Center For Long term Care in Rockland. Tonight is their last chance to impress the judges!

Each girl wants to be perfect, her manors, her knowledge as well as her appearance. Tonight will be the all important question and answer session, during which the girls knowledge of the lobstering industry as well as their knowledge of the local area will be tested. Each girl will answer the judges questions for three minutes that will feel more like three hours. Tonight nerves reign supreme!

By the time each girl has had her photo session and the group shots have all been taken the guests and VIP's have started arriving. By six the Ball Room at the Samoset Resort is filled with friends, family and community leaders. After introducing all the VIP's present the host, Sharon Lombardo announces to the hungry guests that due to the generosity of the Samoset and Jess's Market they would be serving lobster this evening. Now lobster is a wonderful meal, especially when it is Maine lobster the best in the world, however, maybe not so great if you are dressed in your best formal wear and hoping to impress the judges.

After a fantastic diner and dessert, when most of us are just enjoying the pleasure of a wonderful lobster meal it is time for the hardest part of the evening for the girls, the question and answer session. Each girl gets her three minutes in front of the judges and an audience full of friends and family, testing her poise and knowledge of all things Maine.

As in all good princess stories all too soon it is over and it is time to leave the ball and go home, home to wait five days till the Sea Goddess Coronation on Wednesday evening to find out the results.
