JACOB AUGUSTINE TO PLAY AUGUST 2 FOR LITHGOW’S CONCERT SERIES

Augusta, Maine - Up and coming singer-songwriter Jacob Augustine will perform on the lawn as part of Lithgow Public Library’s summer concert series on Thursday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m. Now in its third year, the popular concert series has an exciting line-up of Maine performers, from alternative rock to folk to roots/Americana.
Generously sponsored by the Friends of Lithgow Library, the lawn concerts take place on Thursday evenings in the summer, and are free and open to the public.  In case of rain, the concert will take place in the Reading Room.
Augustine is an experimental folk musician from the northern woods of Maine. He has lived all over the country, crisscrossing the United States performing for over a decade.  He now lives in the Portland area.  While living in California in 2008 he recorded his first full-length album, Harmonia, which was released in early 2009, just months after Augustine moved back to Maine. Harmonia was named a Top Ten Album of the Year by The Portland Phoenix and the single "High Water" received airplay on radio stations across the country.
In the months following Harmonia's release, Augustine gathered some talented Portland-area musicians to perform live. That band, called Jacob and the House Of Fire, toured all over the Northeast.  Augustine has since recorded three other records, and is touring regionally in support of the recent releases, performing solo or with up to a six-piece band.
The remainder of the concert series line-up includes Billy Libby with his band on August 16, and Sweet Wednesday on August 30.
Lithgow Library is located at 45 Winthrop Street in Augusta.  For more information, call the library at 626-2415 or visit the library’s website at www.lithgow.lib.me.us.
