The four international voice teachers of the 317 Main International Voice Seminar will present an evening of vocal pieces, ranging from jazz to classical Irish to selections from musical theater. Giuppi Paone (Italy), Elizabeth Goell (Ireland), and 317 instructors Kathy Slack and Julie Goell will perform, accompanied by Jed Wilson and Nancy 3. Hoffman, at Higgins Hall at North Yarmouth Academy, 168 Main Street in Yarmouth at 7 pm. Admission is $12 for the general public and $8 for students and senior citizens.
The evening will open with Guippi Paone, accompanied by Jed Wilson on piano with a program titled ”When Jazz Happens on the Way to the Forum." They will be followed by Elizabeth Goell, accompanied by Nancy 3. Hoffman on piano with "Tales of a Well Travelled Piano." Julie Goell and Kathy Slack will perform prior to each set.
The International Voice Seminar is taking place July 13 - 15 at 317 Main Community Music Center in Yarmouth. Students wilreceive basic instruction in Jeanette LoVetri’s Somatic Voicework,™ which teaches projection and safe, proper use of chest, head and mixed registers according to choice of repertoire. In addition to vocal work, the Seminar includes instruction in movement, music theory, Jazz history, improvisation and laryngeal anatomy.
There will be a free showcase of the students' work on Saturday, July 14 at 7 pm in the Cafe at 317 Main Street in Yarmouth. The public is welcome to attend.
