Gabi Henderson selected for Outward Bound Leadership Award‏

Foxcroft, Maine - Congratulations to Foxcroft Academy junior Gabi Henderson, who has been selected as the recipient of the 2012 Outward Bound Leadership Award. This award, one of 24 given annually in the United States, provides the course tuition and application fee for an Outward Bound Wilderness course up to 14 days long. This is the tenth year that Foxcroft Academy, one of 24 schools eligible for the scholarship, has presented this award to a student in the junior class based on an application essay, leadership abilities, and a commitment to community service.

Henderson has been the president of her class twice and served as vice president for one year. She has been president of the Spanish Club for two years and is also a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Orchestra, Select Choir, Band, and Peer Mediation. Henderson has played varsity field hockey and softball for all three years at FA, and she made the varsity basketball team as a junior after captaining the junior varsity team for two years. She also plays for Majestix, a traveling field hockey team.
