Rockland, Maine - In honor of its 25th anniversary, Georges River Land Trust has organized Revelry for the River, a yearlong celebration including 18 special events. The Land Trust is partnering with Breakwater Vineyards in Owls Head to host a special tour and tasting on Saturday, May 19 from 5-7 pm. The cost is $25 for GRLT members and $30 for non-members. Bill and Jeanne Johnson, the owners and vintners at Breakwater Vineyards will lead the tour, and guests will be treated to a special tasting, including some of Breakwater Vineyards' newest releases ofwine. Since acquiring the former equestrian center in 2007, the Johnsons have planted over 2,000 vines, which include nine varieties of grapes. The wines are aged in either stainless or oak barrels depending on the desired fermentation style. Guests will savor wine and appetizer pairings as they overlook Rockland Harbor and the Camden Hills. Another star attraction: the vineyard’s “ambassador” goats.

Georges River Land Trust’s Revelry for the River events are a great way to have fun and experience what the St. George River watershed has to offer. Upcoming Revelry events will showcase dinner at a restored limestone quarry reborn into beautiful gardens, introduce you to the art of boat building atLyman-Morse, and take you on a motorcycle tour from Liberty to Port Clyde.

Organized in 1987, the Georges River Land Trust works to conserve the ecosystems and traditional heritage of the Georges River watershed region through permanent land protection, stewardship, education and outdoor experiences.
