BOSTON, MA - Back to the Garden: The Artistry of Joni Mitchell is a play with music and dance, written and performed by Berklee students. Considered by many to be the most important female recording artist of the 20th century, Joni Mitchell was also innovative and inconoclastic. Her music was always evolving, from deeply personal folk stylings in the 1960s and '70s into pop, jazz, and even world music. Back to the Garden is about that journey, Joni's commitment to change and her fierce unwillingness to compromise. The production is directed by Rebecca Perricone, and the music ensemble is directed by 2012 Grammy winner Terri Lyne Carrington. Please note that Joni Mitchell will not be performing.
