The 50th Annual Windjammer Days Commemorated by the Postal Service with a Pictorial Postmark!
Boothbay Harbor, Maine — The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the Postal Service will issue a commemorative pictorial postmark celebrating the 50th annual Windjammer Days! The stamp was designed by the Chamber using the components of this year's logo.
The postmark will be offered on Wednesday, June 27th during the Windjammer Days festival at the Whale park and at the post office. The Chamber will have stamped postcards available for purchase at the tent at the park. The last time Windjammer Days had a pictorial postmark was in 1996. Pictorial postmarks are event postmarks offered by the Postal Service to commemorate local community events, such as fairs, conventions, or other types of local celebrations.
Windjammer Days is June 24- 27 with the schooners in Linekin Bay on the 26th and in the harbor on 27th. To learn more about Windjammer Days and to track updates, visit the Chamber's website at www.boothbayharbor.com or find us on Facebook.
