PETE KILPATRICK BAND TO PLAY JULY 19 AT LITHGOW’S CONCERT SERIES
AUGUSTA, Maine – The Pete Kilpatrick Band will perform on the lawn as part of Lithgow Public Library’s summer concert series on Thursday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m. Now in its third year, the popular concert series has an exciting line-up of Maine performers, from alternative rock to folk to roots/Americana.
Generously sponsored by the Friends of Lithgow Library, the lawn concerts take place on Thursday evenings in the summer, and are free and open to the public. In case of rain, the concert will take place in the Reading Room.
The Pete Kilpatrick Band hails from Portland, often called the music mecca of the northeast. They have been writing, recording, and performing regularly since 2004 and have released six independent albums, including this year’s Heavy Fire. They have been named Maine’s best act four times in the Portland Best Music Awards and have performed over 1,000 shows since their formation, sharing the stage with such notable acts as Dave Matthews Band, David Gray, Jason Mraz, Ray Lamontagne, Guster, Amos Lee, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Brett Dennen, The Wailers, and many others.
Kilpatrick has been writing and performing award-winning music for over a decade, and with the addition of members Ed Dickhaut (drums), Tyler Stanley (keys) and Pete Morse (lead guitar), the Pete Kilpatrick Band now boasts the raw talent and ideal dynamic that shines through on Heavy Fire.
The band was named Best Local Act and Best Male Vocalist for 2010 by Portland Phoenix readers. “His music is patient and conveys simple, timeless truths, which explains his now-undeniable widespread appeal to the people in the Port,” said a Portland Press Herald reviewer. “Folks want their Maine lives to sound like Pete Kilpatrick songs, long on romance, sunny and ephemeral.”

The remainder of the concert series line-up includes Jacob Augustine on August 2; Billy Libby with his band on August 16, and Sweet Wednesday on August 30.
