Greenwood, who is known to many for his hit song “God Bless the U.S.A.”, will kick off the evening’s free entertainment that will welcome motorcycle riders after they complete their ride from Grandview, Mo., to the Liberty Memorial. Following Greenwood will be Kansas City rhythm, funk and blues band Four Fried Chickens and a Coke.
“We are excited to host a spectacular line up of entertainment for our inaugural Spirit Ride,” says Museum President & CEO Brian Alexander. “We hope many motorcycle enthusiasts and non-riders alike will join us for what is sure to be a special evening.”
The south side of the Liberty Memorial grounds will open at 4 p.m. with live music beginning at 6 p.m. The public is encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and a picnic to enjoy during the concert. Food trucks will also be on site during the event. Parking will be available in the Hallmark parking lots at 27th and Warwick, as the Museum’s U-drive and parking lots will be reserved for registered motorcycle riders.
About the Spirit Ride
Spirit Ride is a motorcycle ride fundraiser in partnership with Gail’s Harley-Davidson, General Motors, the Kansas City Area Chevy Dealers and the VFW. All proceeds from the event support the National World War I Museum, the nation’s only museum dedicated to sharing the stories of the Great War.
Ride registration begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, at Gail’s Harley-Davidson in Grandview, Mo. Staging begins at 3 p.m. with the ride leaving for the Liberty Memorial at 4 p.m. Registered riders and their guests will receive free admission to the Museum from 5-7 p.m.

About Lee Greenwood
Country music recording artist Lee Greenwood, best known for his hit “God Bless the U.S.A.”, has won numerous industry accolades including, Male Vocalist of the year for the Academy of Country Music in 1983, two Male Vocalist of the Year awards from the Country Music Association, 1983 & 1984 and a Grammy for Top Male Vocal Performance in 1985 for “I.O.U.”. Also in 1985, he took home CMA Song of the Year honor as the writer of “God Bless the USA.”
