Bangor, Maine - Downtown Bangor Partnership hosts a beach party with Rog & Ray at this week’s Cool Sounds concert; Influence by artists such as, Elvis, the Beatles, Beach Boys, Del Vikings, and Buddy Holly, this Southern Maine duo packs a whole summer of fun into one evening. Whether it be the Caribbean style of Jimmy Buffett and other Latin beats or a well chosen country song or two, Rog & Ray move smoothly between songs. One look at the finely decorated stage and you can feel the tropical breeze.
Ray sings lead, plays guitar and congas, and occasionally can be heard playing flute and harmonica. Rog provides the harmonies and moves smoothly from lead and rhythm to bass guitar and plays keyboards as well. Audience members are encouraged to get on stage and play congas on certain numbers with the duo.
The show is in conjunction with the Outdoor Market which features over 45 vendors selling Maine-made fine arts, select crafts, specialty food items and produce. All items are handmade, prepared or raised by the vendor. Items available include; art, baked goods, cheese, clothing, food, handbags, jewelry, photography, and much more.
