Blue Hill, Maine - Blue Hill Public Library will host a “Creatures of the Night” presentation for the public and watercolor workshop for kids aged 8 to 15 on Saturday July 28th at 12:30 PM. The presentation will feature live owls from Birdsacre in Ellsworth. Grayson Richmond of Birdsacre will share his knowledge of these amazing and rarely-seen nocturnal birds, and talk about their interesting lives.
After the owl presentation, local artist Rebekah Raye will present a workshop for kids on drawing and painting using ink and watercolor. The owls will be the models! Rebekah Raye is well-known for her artwork featuring a variety of animals and using a variety of media, including painting, sculpture and metalwork. Her artwork can be viewed at rebekahraye.com. She has also authored and illustrated a number of children’s books.
Workshop participants are asked to register on the Library’s web site or by calling 374-5515, because space is limited. Those who wish to come to the presentation do not need to register. For more information, call Pat at 374-5515.
