Open house: Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge & Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands New Headquarters
Rockland, Maine - A private opening was held at the new headquarters of the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands. The event was co-sponsored by Penobscot Island Air and Rayr Wineshop both of the mid coast area, with additional assistance provided by the Green Thumb, Bayview Gallery, Bill Barnes, and Party Fundamentals. Raffle winners included John Hanson of Maine’s Boats, Homes, & Harbors, Kathy Sprowl of Hope, and Chris Malorey of Round Pond.
A public open house is scheduled for May 12th from 10 am to 2 pm. Our interior renovations are complete; however, we are still in the process of developing the exhibits. Please join us at any time during the open house for a tour or to partake in any of the listed events.
Art gallery will be open throughout the open house and will be featuring watercolor artist Meryl Henderson, wood carver Hank Tyler, wildlife photographer Kirk Rogers, and historical photographs of Rockland by Elmer Montgomery.
Giveaways will be available for children as well as special costumed guest sightings.
