NATURE-INSPIRED ARTER ART AT PWA
Damariscotta, Maine - With nature as her inspiration, artist Debra Arter has created an exhibit entitled “Nature as Touchstone,” on display at Pemaquid Watershed Association’s (PWA) office suite in Damariscotta through June 1. Ferns, water, rocks, plants mix and blend and play with texture, decay, layered histories, and found objects. “When I paint I like to layer bits of architectural drafting, maps or mesh over the image to create layers, which can remain revealed, scraped or obscured with paint later. I am happy to show my at the Pemaquid Watershed offices. I am happy that a portion of proceeds will help preserve the place that inspires refreshes and amazes me,” Arter said.
The exhibit may be viewed weekdays from 9:30 to 4:30 p.m. by visiting PWA above Salt Bay CafĂ© in downtown Damariscotta. For more information, call 207-563-2196 or visit www.pemaquidwatershed.org. Arter is donating 35% of proceeds from sales to support PWA’s mission of conserving the natural resources of the Pemaquid Peninsula.
