MCST Students Feed URockers Through Finals Week

MCST Students Feed URockers Through Finals Week

Rockland, Maine - Students in the Culinary Arts Program at the Mid-Coast School of Technology under the direction of Josh Gamage prepared "Food for Finals" for university students at University College at Rockland last week.

Collaborating with URock's Student Service Coordinator, Dagmar Moravec, MCST students prepared 22 trays of sandwiches, wraps and veggies spread over the five weekdays.  According to Moravec, the intent was to provide a nutritious menu to students who are under stress during finals week.

"Food for Finals" is a legitimate and popular use of student activity funds," added Moravec. "We see the improved mood and test results for students when they are fed well." Moravec noted the number of Facebook posts from URock students praising the healthy and delicious food choices. There were also numerous comments praising the importance of the community partnership with MCST.

"It was a great success all around," she noted.
