Downtown Rockland Streetscapes Project Resumes May 14th
Rockland, Maine - The Downtown Streetscapes Project will resume Monday, May 14. There are two sections of Main Street sidewalks scheduled to be reconstructed this spring, with a third section to be added if funding is available:
East side of street from Glovers Passage to area opposite Limerock Street
East side of street from area opposite Limerock Street to Tillson Avenue (as funding allows)
West side of street from Limerock Street to alleyway at Rock Coast Sports
It is anticipated work for each section will take about 2 weeks, depending on conditions and the weather.
Initial demolition for each section will take place during the first two nights of construction between 5:00 PM and 5:00 AM. The noisiest work (i.e., sawcutting) will take place between approximately 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. After demolition is complete, work will revert to daytime hours.
During the Streetscapes Project, traffic will be limited to one lane, and parking along the construction site will be unavailable. All work is scheduled to be completed by June 29.
