Camden, Maine - The following are some great events happening at the Camden Public Library from May 8th through May 22nd. Please attend these great events, if time allows.
Tuesday, May 8
Strega Nona Potluck Spaghetti Supper for Children’s Book Week, Camden Public Library, 6:00 pm. Call the library at 236-3440 for potluck assignments and to let Miss Amy know you are coming.
Thursday, May 10
The Three Amigos of Poetry at the Camden Public Library, 6:30 pm. Maine poets David Moreau, Bob MacLaughlin, and Dave Morrison will read their poetry. Admission is free and books will be offered for sale. The three friends are acclaimed poets with three unique voices. Please join us!
Saturday, May 12
Opening reception at 2:00 pm for the “Culture on Cloth” exhibit at the Camden Public Library, featuring tapestries created by the Inuit women of Baker Lake in Nunavut Territory in the Canadian Arctic. Judith Burch collected the art and will give an illustrated talk at the opening reception. The collection will be on display through the month of May.
Monday, May 14
“Wellness” Brown Bag Lunch features Lori LeBlanc with Tibetan Singing Bowls, noon at the Camden Public Library. The library and the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce co-host the “Wellness” series. All are welcome.
Tuesday, May 15
The Amazon Pueblo Project: an illustrated discussion about an indigenous village in Colombia, 6:30 pm at the Camden Public Library. Ben Angulo discusses the village and people of La Libertad
Sunday, May 20
Afternoon Tea in the Reading Room, 3:00 pm, a fundraiser to support the Camden Public Library featuring “Interior Design Explained” with Leslie Curtis and Debbie Chatfield. $40 Tea for Two; $20 for single; tickets available at the front desk, Dot’s, and Zoot’s.

Regular meeting of the Camden Philosophical Society Reading Group, 4:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, open to all.
Tuesday, May 22
“Tick Talk” at the Camden Public Library, 6:30 pm, with Lyme disease specialist Dr. Bea Szantyr, presented by the Camden Lyme Disease Support Group. Dr. Szantyr’s “Tick Talk” is an informative look at ticks, the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi which causes Lyme disease, the incidence of Lyme disease in Maine, the difficulties of medical diagnosis, and steps you can take to protect yourself and your family.
