20th Season Opens on April 4th
Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have announced their 2013 schedule. The Sea Dogs will open the 2013 season on Thursday, April 4th at 6:00 PM at Hadlock Field against the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees). Individual tickets for the 2013 season will go on sale on Saturday, November 3rd at 9:00 AM at the Hadlock Field Ticket Office.
The 2013 season will be the Sea Dogs 20th year in Portland and 11th as a Boston Red Sox affiliate. The Eastern League season consists of 142 games (71 home and 71 away) against 11 opponents.The 2013 schedule features a season high 16 games in July at the height of the season including three of the four weekends. Additionally 33 of the 71 home games will occur on weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Opponents highlighting the 2013 schedule will be 11 home games against the Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Additionally, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays), the Sea Dogs neighbor to the south will make three trips to Hadlock Field in 2013 for a total of 10 games.
The Sea Dogs will be home on Father's Day (June 16th at 1:00 PM), the Fourth of July (July 4th at 6:00 PM), and Labor Day (September 3rd at 1:00 PM).
Standard game times this year will remain the same. April and May weekday games will begin at 6:00 PM, while weekend games will be at 1:00 PM. In June, July, and August weekday games will start at 7:00 PM, Saturday's at 6:00 PM, and Sunday's at 1:00 PM. In addition, the Sea Dogs will play three games at 12:00 noon on weekdays; July 8th, August 8th, and August 21st. The Sea Dogs will host a special education day game which will start at 11:00 AM on May 23rd.
Individual Tickets for the 2013 season will go on sale at the Hadlock Field Box Office on Saturday, November 3rd at 9:00 AM. Phone & Internet orders will begin at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 3rd. Season Tickets are currently on sale. The 2013 schedule once again promises to be filled with many fun and exciting promotions. The schedule will feature five fireworks shows; May 17th, June 13th, July 4th, July 26th, and August 20th. The annual Field of Dreams/ Fan Appreciation Day is set for Sunday, September 1st. A complete promotional schedule will be announced at a later date including bobblehead doll giveaways, appearances by traveling acts such as the ZOOperstars, celebrity appearances, theme nights, and more.
