Andrew Zolli will be the featured speaker at the Camden Public Library on Thursday, October 11, at 7:00 pm for the library’s “Red White and Green October” series. Zolli is the co-author of the new book Resilience: The Science of Why Things Bounce Back, and is also the executive director and curator of PopTech.
Resilience is about why some organizations fall apart in the face of disruption, while others flourish. Reporting firsthand from the coral reefs of Palau to the back streets of Palestine, Andrew Zolli and Ann Marie Healy relate breakthrough scientific discoveries, pioneering social and ecological innovations, and important new approaches to constructing a more resilient world. Along the way, they share insights to bolster our own psychological resilience, foster greater stability within our communities, and establish leadership imperatives for more resilient organizations. Zolli shows how this new concept of resilience is a powerful lens through which we can assess major issues afresh: from business planning to social development, from urban planning to national energy security.
Andrew Zolli is a big picture thinker at the intersection of trends, technology, strategy and innovation. Zolli helps organizations see, understand, and respond to complex change. A great storyteller and captivating speaker, he helps audiences look with fresh eyes at the future of their business. During Zolli’s tenure, PopTech’s annual thought leadership conference, held annually in Camden, has become one of the most influential innovation-focused events in the United States.
Zolli also serves as a Fellow of the National Geographic Society, and his work, writings and ideas have appeared in a wide array of media outlets, including The New York Times, Wired, PBS, National Public Radio, BusinessWeek, Fast Company, Newsweek and many others.
PopTech is a global innovation network that brings together eminent and emerging leaders in science, technology, innovation, design, health, the humanities, and the corporate and social sectors to collaborate on breakthrough new approaches to the world’s toughest challenges. PopTech annually hosts a conference in Camden in mid-October. Zolli’s talk at the Camden Public Library will give a foretaste of the topics on the eve of the conference. The Owl & Turtle Bookstore will have copies of Resilience on hand for purchase.
