Brunswick, Maine - The Miss Maine Scholarship Program held its annual Miss Maine Day at the Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School on Sunday, September 23, 2012. The Miss Maine Day pageant is a fundraiser for its scholarship program and awards titles in four age groups while providing opportunities for growth and achievement.
Eliza Jack, age 6 of Baileyville, was crowned Miss Mini Maine 2012. Alivia Branish, age 4 of Windham, received High Interview Score and was named Miss Photogenic and Essay winner in that age group.
Elizabeth Collins, age 11 of Mapleton, was crowned Miss Little Maine 2012 and also received high score for the interview portion of the competition. Kendra Smith, age 9 of Sanford, won the essay contest, and Brianna Jack, age 8 of Baileyville, was named Miss Photogenic.
Emily Baker, age 14 of Topsham, was crowned Miss Young Teen Maine 2012. She also won the interview portion of the competition, the essay contest and was named Miss Photogenic.
Abigail Shea, age 16 of Mt. Vernon, was named Miss Teen Maine 2012. Audrey Thames, age 17 of Topsham, won the essay contest and the interview portion of the competition. Emily Christakis, age 15 of Gorham, was named Miss Photogenic.
The Miss Maine Scholarship Program is the official preliminary to the Miss America Pageant, one of the largest achievement programs and the largest source of scholarships for young women in the world, awarding over $45 million dollars last year at the local, state, and national levels.
