Falmouth, Maine - Crews will be performing repair work on the Presumscot River Bridge beginning Sunday, September 30 and continuing for approximately three weeks. This southbound work on the I-295 bridge in Falmouth necessitates that traffic be reduced to one lane between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday morning. Both lanes will be open after 6 a.m.
Crews will be replacing the bridge joint, and speeds will be reduced to 55mph in the work zone. During the daytime hours, the area under construction will be covered by an elevated steel plate, so motorists are urged to drive with caution.
During this same three week period, two southbound bridges on I-295 in Portland that span railroad tracks will undergo minor maintenance and repair work during the overnight hours.
All work will be suspended on Sunday, October 7th and Monday, October 8th due to the Columbus Day holiday.
This work is weather dependent, so the schedule and times may need to be adjusted as needed.
