“The Disappearance of Raoul Wallenberg,” illustrated lecture by Dr. Richard Cornelia, 6:30 pm at the Camden Public Library. In late 1944 while WW II raged, Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg traveled to Budapest determined to save the last of Europe’s Jews.

Friday, July 13

Author Medea Benjamin presents Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control, 2:30 pm at the Camden Public Library. Medea’s appearance is sponsored by The Midcoast Peace and Justice Group.

Tuesday, July 17

Songwriters’ Songswap at the Camden Public Library, 6:00 pm – an informal song circle for new music and old. All are welcome, bring a friend!

Movies in the Camden Amphitheatre features “The Raven” starring Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Boris Karloff, 8:15 pm. Part of “A Renascence Summer” hosted by the Camden Public Library and generously supported by The First Bancorp. Rain location: the library’s Picker Room. Bring blankets or chairs for seating.

Illustrated talk on “Emerson in England” presented by photographer Bill Anderson, 3:00 pm at the Camden Public Library.

Concert in the Amphitheatre by the Midcoast Brass Quintet, 7:00 pm, part of the Camden Public Library’s free Summer Concert Series. Rain location: Picker Room. Bring blankets or chairs for seating.

BOOK SALE Friday-Saturday-Sunday under the tents at the Camden Public Library, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, July 20-21-22. To benefit the Library.

Author Max Alexander will launch his new book Bright Lights, No City: An African Adventure on Bad Roads with a Brother and a Very Weird Business Plan, 6:30 pm at the Camden Public Library.

Seafarers and authors Lin and Larry Pardey present an illustrated talk on “The Adventures that Shaped our Lives,” 6:30 pm at the Camden Public Library.

National Dance Day celebration at the Camden Amphitheatre with Children’s Librarian Amy Hand of the Camden Public Library Come learn and dance with us, 10:00 am. For all ages.

Tuesday, July 31

“Beach Reads” with the Sisters in Crime panel of mystery writers including Vicki Doudera, Kate Flora, and Janis Bolster, 6:30 pm at the Camden Public Library. The Sisters in Crime will recommend some great summer reads. Books will be made available to purchase by Sherman’s Books of Camden, and one lucky attendee will win a beach bag full of summer books!
