BREAKING NEWS: 2 Alarm Apartment Building Fire Shuts Down Rockland Main Street

Rockland, Maine - A 2 alarm fire at 666 Main Street, a large apartment building in Rockland shut down shut down Main street from North Main Street to Rockland Street and leaves 7 families in need of shelter on Thursday, March 17th, 2016.  The Red Cross was notified.

Heavy smoke was pouring out of the front and back of the second floor of the seven unit apartment building at 666 Main St. when firefighters arrived at about 3:45 p.m.

Fire unites from Rockland, Rockport and Thomaston are on scene.

The fire was quickly under control and knocked down around 4:50pm.
