Tim Seymour will present a slide talk on the John Muir Trail, the “premier hiking trail in the United States,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. The trail starts in America’s treasure, Yosemite National Park, and continues 211 miles through the Ansel Adams Wilderness.

Poetry of the Sea with Gordon Bok and Carol Rohl, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. In celebration of Maritime Month at the Camden Public Library, Gordon Bok and Carol Rohl will present selections of maritime poetry, stories, and music. And in celebration of Poetry Month, Carol will include poetry inspired by her recovery from a stroke in 2004.
Tuesday, April 5
Author Padma Venkatraman will speak at the Camden Public Library at 4:00 pm about the status of women in India and throughout history. Venkatraman was born in Chennai, India, and is now an award-winning American author living in Rhode Island. She will also briefly address paradoxes associated with being a woman in India, discuss her experience growing up in that culture, and touch on her family's history, which is fictionalized in her award-winning debut novel, “Climbing the Stairs.”
Gallery talk on “The Allure of the Lighthouse” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, to accompany the exhibit of vintage B&W photographs from the Penobscot Marine Museum. Captains Bob Pratt and Paul Dilger will give an illustrated talk on the lighthouses as part of the Library’s Maritime Month theme.

Camden Library Coffeehouse features Meteora, 7:00 pm. Meteora is a trio of Will Brown of Lincolnville and Jim Loney and Kat Logan of Friendship, who perform a repertoire that includes originals plus new arrangements of folk, Indie, world folk, blues, traditional songs and dance tunes, “and some pop songs from your parent’s record collection.”
