SWAN LAKE LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN IT

Damariscotta, Maine - A real treat for dance fans – on Thursday, September 27 at 2 PM and again at 7 PM, Matthew Bourne’s "Swan Lake" will be screening at Lincoln Theater in downtown Damariscotta  in stunning high definition and surround sound. This iconic production, perhaps best–known for replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble, was filmed at Sadler’s Wells, London in 2011 with a stellar cast including the magnificent Richard Winsor as the lead Swan/Stranger, Dominic North as The Prince and Nina Goldman as The Queen.

When it premiered at Sadler’s Wells in 1995, Matthew Bourne’s triumphant re–interpretation of one of ballet’s classic stories turned tradition upside down, taking the dance world by storm. With more than 30 international theatre awards including three Tonys and an Olivier, Swan Lake is the longest running ballet in the West End and on Broadway.

Matthew Bourne comments: “I’m delighted that we’ve created a superb new version of this hugely popular production that immediately engages the audience, pulling them into the action on stage and giving them instant involvement with the characters. Screening in cinemas will take Swan Lake to the far reaches of the globe which is an incredibly exciting prospect in this 25th anniversary year of our dance company, New Adventures.”

Playing one day only, ticket are just $15 adults and $5 for outh age 18 and under.  Additional information can be found on the theater's website, www.aththelincoln.org.
