Portland completes the homestand with a 5-1 record taking their seventh straight series at Hadlock Field and 12th of their last 13. The two runs were the only two allowed by Portland starter Brandon Workman (2-0) in five innings of work. Workman (2-0) earned his second Double-A win in as many starts. He scattered six hits issuing a walk and notched two strikeouts.
Portland mounted a two out rally to score four runs in the fifth. Jackie Bradley Jr. delivered a RBI double down the right-field line to score Gibson tying the game at two. With two runners on Marquez Smith hit an opposite field three run homer, his sixth of the year, into the U.S. Cellular Pavilion off Logan Darnell (9-11).

The Sea Dogs added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth inning when Bogaerts collected his second double of the game, this one over the center fielder's head scoring two runs. Bogaerts has six multiple hit games in nine Double-A starts. Nine of his 14 Double-A hits have gone for extra bases; he is now hitting .378 with the Sea Dogs.
