Bogaerts Hits Third Double-A Home Run
Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs (59-66) completed Friday's suspended game by earning a 9-2 victory of the New Britain Rock Cats (68-58). The win was the Sea Dogs' eighth consecutive home win. However, the magic would run out in Saturday's regularly scheduled game as the Sea Dogs fell 4-2 in an extra inning affair.
Stolmy Pimentel tossed four no-hit innings prior to the rain on Friday night issuing one walk and striking out four. Jackie Bradley Jr. and Marquez Smith led-off the game with back-to-back singles for the Sea Dogs but failed to score off New Britain starter Luke French. The game was suspended after the top of the fourth due to rain.
When play resumed on Saturday, Rich Hill tossed a scoreless fifth inning allowing one hit and recording a strike out on a Major League rehab assignment. The hit by Deibinson Romero with one out was the first in the game for the Rock Cats.
Aaron Hicks led-off the top of the sixth with a triple down the right-field line off Ryan Pressly and scored on Chris Hermann's ground out to shortstop to give the Rock Cats a 1-0 lead.

In Saturday's regularly scheduled game, Bogaerts, 2-for-3 with two runs scored, blasted his third Double-A home run in eight games giving the Sea Dogs a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
Sea Dogs starter and Maine native Mike MacDonald was perfect in five of the six innings he worked including retiring the first nine batters he faced. He struck out seven and did not allow a walk. However, the Rock Cats collected four straight singles to lead-off the fourth inning scoring two runs. Chris Colabello's RBI single scored Aaron Hicks to tie the game at one.
