“From Hummingbirds to Whooping Cranes”

“From Hummingbirds to Whooping Cranes” Opening Reception September 4

Keith Carver and Karl Gerstenberger will host a reception and talk to introduce the opening of a month-long exhibition of their bird photographs at the Camden Public Library on Tuesday evening, September 4, at 7:00 pm in the Jean Picker Room. The title of their show is “From Hummingbirds to Whooping Cranes.” Don Reimer, well-known writer, speaker, and author of “Birding with Don Reimer” appearing frequently in the Free Press, will offer his reflections on birding and photography. Don introduced Keith and Karl to each other at Weskeag Marsh three years ago. Since then the two have travelled extensively in the U.S. and Eastern Canada pursuing, finding, and photographing a myriad of interesting and colorful birds. They are anxious to share the results of their work and invite you to the opening of their exhibit.

The photographs will be on display throughout the month of September. All are matted and framed and are available for purchase. In conjunction with this show, the Mid-Coast Chapter of the Audubon Society will be hosting a talk in the Jean Picker Room with naturalist Mike Shannon on “Habitats” on Thursday, September 13, at 7:00 pm.
