Maine Ghost Tours and Ghost Stories

Maine - Add some spook to fall activities with one of these fun and informative tours. Take a stroll with Wicked Walking Tours in Portland to learn about the resident once cursed by witches, a ghostly pirate ship, and the city's haunted house that Stephen King wrote a story about. One-hour day and evening tours are offered mid-September through Halloween.

The historic sites and ghostly haunts of Midcoast Maine are revealed during Red Cloak Haunted History Tours. Evening tours in Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta, Camden and Bath are led by the "Lady in the Red Cloak."

There are plenty of legends to learn about on a Ghostly Bangor tour through the downtown of eastern Maine's largest city. The Bangor Museum and Center for History operates the walking tour, and a Devil's Half Acre tour that focuses on the gangsters, ghosts, lumberjacks and sailors who made headlines on the Bangor waterfront years ago.

Maine's spookiest historic fort - Fort Knox in Prospect - will offer guided tours with members of the East Coast Ghost Trackers in search of ghosts and paranormal phenomena. Multiple tours are scheduled for Sept. 8, Oct. 6 and 13.
