Sea Dogs shutout by the Curve 2-0
Portland finishes the roadtrip 3-3...Ryan Kalish 1-for-3, BB
ALTOONA, Pa. - After a one hour and 20 minute rain delay before the start of the game, Altoona righty Brandon Cumpton tossed eight scoreless innings, leading the Curve to a 2-0 win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Sunday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Portland dropped two of three to the Curve, but finished the roadtrip at 3-3.
Logan Kensing allowed consecutive singles to Shannon Wilkerson and Ryan Kalish to start the ninth, but retired the final three batters to earn his first save in the Pirates' system.
Kalish finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk, and went 2-for-9 during his Major League Rehabilitation Assignment with Portland.
Chris Hernandez (2-5) gave up both runs over five and 2/3 innings on six hits, three walks and four strikeouts. Hernandez threw a season-high 93 pitches.
The Sea Dogs had six hits from six different players and two walks off the Curve staff. Altoona held the Sea Dogs 0-for-4 with runners-in-scoring position.
The Curve cracked the ice early, scoring a two-out run against in the second inning. Miles Durham started the rally with a walk and scored a double by Quincy Latimore. The walk and double combination did the trick in the third inning for Altoona. Brock Holt drew a one-out walk and scored on Tony Sanchez's double to right-center field.
Chorye Spoone made his Sea Dogs debut, working two and 1/3 scoreless frames on a walk and a strikeout.

Notes...Lefty Drake Britton makes his Double-A debut on Tuesday night against Bowie...Hernandez threw a season-high 94 pitches...Heiker Meneses extended his hitting streak to three games.
