Sea Dogs Hold on For 4-3 Win

Bradley Jr. Collects Fifth Multi-Hit Game

Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs (32-46) ended a three game skid with a 4-3 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (30-47) Thursday night at Hadlock Field.  The Sea Dogs got timely hitting and a strong start from Anthony Ranaudo to earn their first win of the series.

Peter Hissey broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly to center scoring Dan Butler, who had led-off the inning with a double.

The Sea Dogs took a 3-0 lead in the third inning off Fisher Cats starter Yohan Pino (4-3) Jackie Bradley Jr. delivered a RBI single to right scoring Derrick Gibson.  All-Star Bryce Brentz collected his 19th double of the season scoring Ryan Dent and Bradley Jr.

Ranaudo had one of his finest Double-A outings holding the Fisher Cats scoreless through the first four innings.  In the fifth Ranaudo issued a one out walk to the number nine hitter Justin Jackson.  Jackson would score on a Brian Bocock double.  After Mike McDade walked, Mark Sobolewski singled to score Bocock as the Fisher Cats cut the lead to 3-2.

Ranaudo would not factor into the decision tossing five innings scattering six hits and allowing just the two earned runs in the fifth inning.  He walked three and struck out three.

Brad Glenn belted a solo home run, his eighth of the year, off Sea Dogs reliever Jason Urquidez in the sixth to tie the game at three.

Despite yielding the home run, Urquidez (1-0) picked-up his first win in a Sea Dogs uniform.  He allowed one run on three hits in 2.2 innings.

Aaron Kurcz struck out the side in the ninth to earn his fourth save.

Bradley Jr. was 2-for-3 in the contest with a run scored and a RBI raising his average to .382.  He has hit safely in seven of eight Double-A starts including five multi hit games.
