Camden/Rockport, Maine - Boost your nature IQ! Merryspring Nature Center will hold a free family workshop on tree and animal species identification on Sunday, July 8 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The first in a series of free summer workshops that will continue throughout the summer, Nature Identification Day will begin outside at the Merryspring hexagon. Guests of all ages are invited to test their natural knowledge with a variety of activities that will include tree and leaf identification, animal tracking, and bird adaptation exercises. Beginning at 2:00 pm, AmeriCorps Environmental Educator Brett Willard and Merryspring Vice President Glenn Jenks will lead a nature walk through the Merryspring grounds identifying trees, birds, and animal signs.
The Free Family Workshop series will offer a wide array of educational events from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on select Sundays throughout the summer. Merryspring is a member-supported, non-profit nature education center and park located at the end of Conway Road just off Rt. 1 by the Hannaford shopping plaza in Camden.
