SAVE THE DATE TO RUN FOR THE HILLS

Belfast, Maine - Runners, take your mark – for the fourth annual Run for the Hills. This year’s 10K will be held Saturday, September 15 in Belfast.

Appropriately named, the hilly and rigorous 6.2-mile course gives both elite and casual runners the chance to strut their stuff - all for a good cause. All proceeds will directly fund Coastal Mountains Land Trust's conservation work in the western Penobscot Bay Region.

Online registration is available when you visit www.coastalmountains.org and this year, the first 100 to register will receive a handmade stained glass sun catcher from local artisan Janet Redfield. Mail-in and same day registrations will be accepted, though mail-in registrations need to be received by September 12.

The highly scenic course begins at Waterfall Arts on High Street in Belfast, and tours runners past the Head of Tide and Stover Preserves before turning to follow the peaceful Passagassawakeag River and finish on the Belfast Footbridge. A course map, registration, and other details pertaining to race day, are also available on our website.

If you’re not a runner but would like to be a part of this big event, we’re looking for race day volunteers to assist with registration, direct runners on the course, and help out at the finish line. If you’re interested in helping, contact Ellen Skoczenski at (207) 236-7091 or ellens@coastalmountains.org.

In addition to our generous lead sponsor Bank of America, we’re also grateful to our other sponsors – Cold Mountain Builders, Darby’s Restaurant, Waldo County General Hospital, Consumers Fuel Co. and Front Street Shipyard.
