See Seabird Successes at Sea!

Port Clyde, ME
July 15th, 2012 4-7pm

Join us to hear success stories about bringing back many species of seabirds back from the brink of extinction. On Sunday, July 15th from 4-7pm the Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands will host a cruise aboard the Monhegan boat line’s Elizabeth Ann, to showcase the natural history and the seabird nesting islands along Maine’s midcoast.

Staff members of the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands will speak about island habitat conservation and restoration projects which have resulted in the re-establishment of long-absent seabird breeding colonies.

Space on the Elizabeth Ann is limited and advance reservations are required.  The boat will depart from the Monheagan Boat Landing in Port Clyde.  Call 594-0600 x.5 to reserve a space.  Rain date is set for Sunday July 22nd.

The mission of the Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands is to encourage the appreciation and conservation of Maine’s rich diversity of coastal habitats, seabirds, and other wildlife. The Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands works closely with the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge and supports a variety of seabird conservation and restoration projects.  For more information about the activities of Friends of Maine Seabird Islands and its partner organizations, please visit www.maineseabirds.org.
