Georges Valley snapped a 3 all tie by scoring 5 runs in the 5th and 8 more in the 6th to roll to a 16-4 win over Rockland Café.  Thomas Curtis led the Georges Valley offense with a pair of doubles and 4 RBIs, while Sam Townsend added a pair of RBI singles.  Scotty Strong went the distance to earn the win, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 6 walks.  Rockland Café was paced by Zach Peaco’s 2 singles and 3 RBIs.   However Peaco, the second of 4 Rockland pitchers, suffered the loss allowing 5 runs on 2 hits and 2 walks.

Rockland Café (6-3), which had won 4 straight, jumped on top 1-0 in the first on Ryan Allender’s lead off double and Peaco’s RBI single.  Georges Valley (5-4) tied the game in the second as Nick Davis walked, stole second and scored on Townsend’s RBI single.  GV made it 2-1 in the 3rd on Titus Kaewthong’s single and Curtis’ RBI double.

Rockland scored twice in the 3rd to take a 3-2 lead as Zac Roman reached on an error, stole second followed by Nick Mazurek walking.  Both players advanced on a wild pitch and then scored on Peaco’s RBI double.  Georges Valley tied the game in the top of the 4th when Jimmy Strong reached on a fielder’s choice, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on Townsend’s RBI single.

Georges Valley broke open the tied game open in the 5th inning, scoring 5 times Andrew King’s RBI fielder’s choice, Curtis’ 2 run double, Jimmy Strong’s RBI ground out and Davis’ RBI single.

Rockland got a run back when Roman tripled and scored on Isaiah Green’s RBI single, but Georges Valley blew the game open with an 8 run 6th inning on a throwing error that allowed a run to cross the plate, a RBI double by Scotty Strong, RBI ground out by Curtis, RBI single by Ranney, 2 run single by Rico Baudanza, Dallas Ball’s RBI single and a bases loaded walk to Kaewthong

Georges Valley will travel to Wiscasset Ford on Tuesday, while Rockland Café will battle Camden-Rockport in Rockport.
