CAMDEN, ME -- Fisher Engineering of Rockland, a division of Douglas Dynamics, is the strongest participant in United Mid-Coast Charity's payroll deduction giving program, in terms of both dollars and number of employees giving from each paycheck. The two organizations recently marked their partnership's 10th anniversary.

"This is something we feel really good about doing," said Carolyn Herron, chairman of Fisher's donation committee and a financial accountant at the company. "It's not just that the paperwork is easy. UMCC does all the work, interviewing organizations, determining where donations are best directed. We can feel 100 percent sure that the money our employees give is going to where it's most needed in our community."

Any of Fisher's 260 employees can donate any portion of his or her paycheck to UMCC, the Camden-based non-profit supporting 50 agencies in Knox and Waldo counties. Since Fisher matches all employee donations, effectively doubling the impact of those donations, it is important to note that UMCC donates 100 percent of funds collected, said Herron.
