The following are answers we were able to ask Katia recently. We see this young Singer as having a successful career as she has a lot to offer.

Katia, when did you start singing?
I started singing at 10 years old

Was it your dream to be a singer?
Yes, my inspiration started when the first High School Musical Movie was released on the Disney Channel.

Does your parents support you?
Yes both my parents support me and my grandmother also supports me.

Do you write your own song?
At the moment I have someone that is writing my music but now we sit down and we brainstorm and come up with things together.

If so, tell us what goes into writing a great song?
Using poetry, emotions and past experiences.

Where was your first performance, were you excited?
My first performance was at a mall in Miami for a children's publicated magazine for a back to school event. I was not too excited because it was my first time ever holding a microphone and performing live. But after seeing people's reaction, it made me really happy and excited to perform again.

Where have you been able to  perform?
I have been honored by being allowed to perform at different charity events in Miami, New York, and Los Angeles. I was also asked to perform at a concert venue in front of 5,000 people for a freestyle event.

Who inspires you with your singing and songwriting?
Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry, and my mother. :)

If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I would love to perform in Europe. I love their culture and their beautiful countries. I have always wished to go to Greece and I hope that one day I can tour with another artist and see that side of the world.

Along the same line, who would you love to perform with?
My favorite question so far!! I would love to one day perform with either One Direction or Big Time Rush! I think that they are the new boy bands that are hitting hard and I love their music.

What are some of your goals for your Music?
I would like for my music to inspire other kids. I hear stories about how kids turn to music to help them in their struggles and I would love to be a part of that. I would also like to hear my songs for a theme for a show on either the Disney or Nickelodeon Channel.

What do you hope to accomplish with your singing/songwriting?
I would love to one day be asked to go on tour with another artists and share that experience.

Katia, do you have any advice for those wanting to start a career in singing and songwriting?
Yes, train yourselves, get into a dance class, recording studio, and take acting. Make sure to always educate yourself in this business so you can make the right choices for yourself and always stay focused and positive. My motto is, "If you believe tht you are a star then its only a matter of time until you belong in the sky.

Is there anything else you want our readers to know about you, your singing/songwriting?
Stay focused in school, learn about art and poetry. Listen to your surroundings and think about what moves you. Then write it and keep adding to it, and you will find a perfect song.
